Looking for a unique, exciting, and totally unforgettable way to celebrate your child’s birthday? The Lancaster Science Factory has you covered!

Celebrate with over 80 hands-on exhibits, a private party room, and plenty of opportunities for scientific fun. Choose a classic birthday celebration or add an interactive, staff-led experiment for an extra-special experience. You can even send each young scientist home with their very own Surprise Discovery Kit!

Whether your child loves to build, create, experiment, or explore, we’re ready to help make their birthday one to remember!

Additional guests are welcome for our group admission rate of $12 per person.

We recommend at least one adult chaperone for every five children.

Birthday parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays and must be booked at least four weeks in advance.

$450 + tax

Take your birthday celebration to the next level with a fun, interactive science experience!

Your party includes:

Use of a private party room for two hours
Admission for up to 25 party guests during your party and for the remainder of the day
Tables and table covers ready for your celebration
The option to bring your own food and drinks

PLUS a dedicated party host who will lead your group through an exciting hands-on experiment of your choice!

Experiment Options for All Ages

It’s Slime Time!

Get ready to squish, stretch, and create! Each child will make their very own slime to take home. Choose your party theme:
Dino Slime – complete with glitter and adorable dinosaur charms
Confetti Cake Slime – a fluffy creation filled with colorful sprinkle-inspired mix-ins

Please note: slime is not for consumption!

Tie-Dye Science

A colorful combination of creativity and science! Each child will create their own custom tie-dye bandana to take home while experimenting with color and design.

Newton’s Laws: The Tablecloth Trick

Can you pull a tablecloth out from under a set table without sending everything flying? Put Newton’s Laws of Motion to the test as you explore the science behind this classic and surprising experiment!

Experiments for Grades K–3

Elephant Toothpaste

Get ready for a foamy, colorful explosion! Young scientists will help create an exciting chemical reaction that produces a giant burst of bubbly “toothpaste.” It’s messy, memorable, and full of scientific fun!

Bee-Bots Doodle Party

Put your creativity and problem-solving skills to work! Kids will use friendly Bee-Bot robots to create colorful doodles and designs while exploring basic coding concepts through hands-on play.

Experiments for Grades 4–8

Chemistry Challenge

Take the classic Elephant Toothpaste experiment to the next level! Older scientists will explore an even bigger, bolder chemical reaction and discover more about the science behind the spectacular results.

Edison Bots

Build, create, and code! Kids will use Edison robots to take on exciting challenges while exploring robotics, problem-solving, and introductory coding concepts.

Add a Surprise Discovery Kit!

$8 each + tax

Make the celebration last a little longer! Add a Surprise Discovery Kit for each young scientist to take home and continue exploring.

Each kit comes in a cute, reusable mini tote and includes:

An LSF pencil
A fun squishy toy
A Creative Connector Pack with 15 geometric building pieces
A surprise hands-on STEM project to take home and explore

We order components and create these kits in-house for grades K-3 and 4-8. We keep the STEM project a surprise so that we can offer kids a variety of fun, hands-on discoveries and keep our selection fresh throughout the year!

Please note: Due to pre-scheduled workshops and classes, some Saturday morning slots are unavailable, and Saturday afternoon slots will be available from 3PM - 5PM. If the date selected requires this adjustment, An LSF staff member will provide additional information at the time of booking.

Payments for birthday parties must be made in full within seven (7) days of confirmation to hold your date.

PARTY AGREEMENT

Receipt of payment represents agreement of the party organizer with the following:

Request Surprise Discovery Kits for children at least two weeks prior to the party date.

Reply to the confirmation email with a final headcount for children and adults, including additional guests, at least one week in advance of the party date.

Communicate the party location and time to party guests. If children are being dropped off, please be advised that we do not offer child care and children must be supervised in the exhibit hall. We recommend one adult per five children for all ages. You are ultimately responsible for your guests.

Arrive no earlier than 30 minutes in advance to set up the party room. Tables and chairs will be set with tablecloths that coordinate with our murals, as well as plastic tablecloths for experiment parties. You are welcome to bring your own tablecloths and tabletop decorations. We do not allow balloons, hanging decor, or items to be pinned to the walls. If you have chosen an Experiment Party, please allow your party host to reset the space for dining before placing any tablecloths or decor on the experiment table.

You are welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages. LSF does not provide paper products or utensils of any kind. We do not allow appliances, such as crockpots or food warmers. Open flame (Sternos, etc.) is also not allowed, with the exception of birthday cake candles.

Place all trash in receptacles provided at the conclusion of the party.

Leave the party room promptly at the conclusion of the party. Your reservation is for two hours, but all-day admission to the Lancaster Science Factory is included, and guests are welcome to stay until close.

Pay any balance due by the conclusion of the party. Unless there are changes to your reservation, such as additional guests or Surprise Discovery Kits, the amount you pay while booking is the total amount due.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations by the party organizer received less than two weeks before the party date will be subject to a refund of 1/2 of the total payment. Cancellations received prior to that will receive a full refund.

Parties canceled by the Lancaster Science Factory for ANY reason, including being closed for inclement weather, will be refunded fully.
