Anthony is an artist and emerging museum professional who has been taking apart and trying to fix things his whole life. He grew up spending much of his time in the warehouse of his family’s hardware store sifting through old fastener bins, building things, and learning how different machines and tools function. After several years in the Air Force, Anthony went to college to earn a BFA in Illustration, then an MS in Arts Administration and Museum Leadership. He worked previously as a collections and illustration intern at the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center, where he researched how antique farm equipment and rural life artifacts worked and how they changed life in 19th century America.
Anthony’s STEM hero is his Uncle Norm. He taught mechanical engineering to students at The College of New Jersey for 55 years. He gave Anthony his first soldering iron and electronics to experiment with when he was 12. Anthony is motivated by the teachers, librarians, and artists who inspired him to be creative and to build anything he can imagine. He hopes his work will do the same for the next generation, too! His favorite childhood book is The New Way Things Work by David Macaulay and he highly recommends it to anyone who will listen.
Anthony lives happily with his girlfriend, two cats, and two chinchillas.
