Lancaster Science Factory and North Museum of Nature and Science Announce New Full Day of STEM Field Trip Program

Full day of STEM at LSF and the North Museum.

(Lancaster, PA) Students will now have the opportunity to enjoy a full day of interactive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fun at the Lancaster Science Factory and the North Museum of Nature and Science in Lancaster, PA through a new field trip program.

The program was created to offer local educators an easy, accessible, and affordable option for their students to enjoy an entire day of fun, informal STEM education outside of the classroom by coupling the natural history and science expertise of the North Museum of Nature and Science with the Lancaster Science Factory’s physical science know-how.

“There is a growing need for more students to pursue STEM education and career paths to continue the pipeline of qualified employees for our workforce,” said Terry Kraft, Executive Director of the North Museum of Nature and Science. “We are thrilled to partner with the Lancaster Science Factory to offer this opportunity for educators and students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math concepts during a full day field trip in both of our immersive education settings.”

There are two ticket options available through the Full Day of STEM Program: Standard and Deluxe, priced at $15/per student or $23/per student, respectively. Both options include two hours of fun, interactive learning at each location. The Deluxe ticket adds a show in the North Museum’s revolutionized planetarium, the SciDome Theater, and a hands-on experience led by a STEM educator at the Lancaster Science Factory.

This new program is not the first partnership between the Lancaster Science Factory and the North Museum. The two organizations offer a Double the Discovery Membership that includes a full year of admission to both locations, among other benefits.

“Collaboration among our local STEM-rich organizations is incredibly important,” said Emily Landis, Executive Director of the Lancaster Science Factory.  “By combining forces with the North Museum,we are able to offer a dynamic STEM field trip package.  This opportunity was created in response to teachers requesting a full day opportunity to extend classroom learning, and students who enjoy hands-on, immersive experiences in both the physical and natural sciences.”
