Trying to stir up some learning excitement in your kids? The
Lancaster Science Factory’s 4th annual Science is Amazing Festival on Saturday should do the trick. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the facility, 454 New Holland Ave., opens its doors for free, and adds extra demonstrations, exhibits and activities to its roster. The festival brings in individuals and organizations to present wow-factor, hands-on events related to physical science, engineering, technology or math.
Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and
make717 are returning this year to offer a “Soldering Zone.” Kids grade 5 and up can solder their own robot pin with LED eyes. Other organizations presenting activities and science-related demonstrations include
Bricks 4 Kidz (for Lego lovers), Morphi App (3D printer),
Dewey Mac LLC (homemade spy gadgets!),
North Museum of Nature and Science (nano science), and
Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA (sound wave experiment). And the festival marks the unveiling of a brand new Rock ’n’ Roll Stage exhibit, that lets visitors be the stars. For more information, call 509-6363 or visit
